How do I connect my bank account?

Go to Settings → Connected Banks → Add Bank. We use Plaid and MX to securely connect to thousands of financial institutions. Your bank login credentials are never stored by BudgetOwl.

Why isn't my transaction categorized correctly?

You can change any transaction's category by clicking on it. BudgetOwl learns from your corrections and will automatically apply the same category to similar transactions in the future.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. You can also email us at privacy@budgetowl.ca to request data deletion.

Is my financial data secure?

Yes. We use bank-level encryption (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit), never store your bank credentials, and comply with PIPEDA privacy regulations. See our Security page for details.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription. You can cancel anytime and continue using premium features until the end of your billing period.

My bank connection stopped working

Banks occasionally require re-authentication. Go to Settings → Connected Banks and click 'Reconnect' on the affected bank. If issues persist, contact support.
